- A pure white background: RGB 255, 255, 255.
- The product fills 85% of the image, and the whole product is in frame (not cropped).
- Show the product once, with only the accessories it comes with; no props that could confuse buyers.
- A real, professional-quality image that accurately shows the product's proportions, quantity and color.
- No placeholder images, no Amazon logos or badges, and no claims such as reviews, star ratings or “free shipping”.
- 500 to 10,000 px on the longest side; 1,000 px or more enables zoom. JPEG preferred; TIFF, PNG and non-animated GIF also work.
Images that don't meet the rules may be rejected at upload or removed from search results.
Why "looks white" isn't enough
A backdrop that looks white to your eye is often 245 or 250 instead of 255, especially in phone photos and JPEGs. This checker reads the actual pixel values along the edges and across the background, and marks every light pixel that isn't pure white in pink, so you can see the problem before Amazon's checks do.
Frequently asked questions
How is the 85% measured?
The tool finds the product's outline (everything that isn't light background) and compares its longest side with the matching side of the image. 85% or more passes. Soft shadows count as part of the product, which matches how most sellers frame their shots.
Will the fix change my product?
Only light pixels connected to the edge of the photo are changed. White or light parts inside the product are kept. If a very light product loses part of its edge, raise the slider and run the fix again.
Can I use an AI-generated white background shot as my main image?
Amazon asks for a real, professional-quality image that accurately represents the product. Whatever tool you use, the main image must show your actual product exactly as buyers will receive it; when in doubt, use your real photo with the background cleaned up here, and use AI-edited shots as secondary images.
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
